The welding of thermoplastic materials using spin welding occurs as the result of the melting of the contact surfaces.
The increase in the local temperature necessary for the melting process is obtained through the rubbing of one of the two pieces to be welded. The rotating part is subjected to a thrust pressure so as maintain contact between the parts during the process.
In these spin welders, the rotary movement is generated by means of specially controlled motor and with a spindle which has the shape of the part to be welded.
This technology makes it possible to weld parts made of thermoplastic material with round shape only.
